I hope not.  That's too final and I'd like the possibility of coming back to it.

@Isaiah I would like to agree. But if this is truly the end with no hope of a sequel or spin off then I would like to at least settle for a satisfactory ending.

If the author feels there is nowhere left to go in telling their story then it's best to leave it be as I'd rather avoid the story feeling like it's being dragged.

@JustWatching She hasn't even finished off the Haniel arch.  Something should have happened with the mangaka.  This doesn't feel like Fukada has nowhere left to go, it feels like there are problems somewhere else that are causing the end.  I'd rather there be some sort of open end that we can come back to if whatever issues are causing this go away.

@Isaiah I agree with that as well as it has so much potential. The couple had already impressed the author of 'Mandate of Heaven'. Social media sites are still on fire wanting to know who the cosplayer of Haniel was as well as the creator of her outfit. This event could be the thing that catapults the couple into something bigger in their lives.

But on Fukuda's end, we have no idea of the reason to why the next chapter is going to be the end. The series is popular enough. If something happened, there have been some authors who went on hiatus and came back later to continue it. So it can only really be two things. Either Fukuda wants to call it quits or their publisher had set up a deadline that can't be changed.
