Spoiler!
Varya is very nervous about the tea party because it is hosted by the Empress. She is also worried about her reputation and how others see her, especially since people think she might marry Phileo. At the same time, Varya feels embarrassed and confused because of something that happened earlier between her and Phileo. Previously Phileo privately confessed his feelings to Varya. He spoke seriously and honestly, which shocked her 🤭🤭 Varya felt her heart race, but she became unsure because she believed Phileo still loved Leo’s mother. This misunderstanding made her feel guilty and hesitant about accepting his feelings. At the tea party, Leo notices that Varya is acting strange and keeps asking her what happened. Varya finally admits that Phileo confessed, but she feels bad about it. Leo is confused at first, but then realizes that Varya misunderstood something important that there was never a real woman that Phileo loved in the past. That story was just a lie. Leo tries to explain the truth to Varya, but before she can finish, they are interrupted by Queen Usis. Varya immediately becomes tense and protective of Leo thinking she is dangerous for Leo.
At the tea party, Queen Usis arrives late and apologizes to Empress Tigria, saying the Emperor wanted to spend more time with her. Tigria calmly accepts the apology and says it’s more important to be with the Emperor. Their conversation is surprisingly peaceful, even though they are supposed to be rivals. Leo finds this strange because she expected tension or fighting between them. Queen Usis then happily greets Leo and Varya. She is very friendly and speaks in a casual, carefree way, not like a typical royal. She praises Varya for being smart and successful, saying she likes intelligent people. But she openly says she dislikes “dumb people,” pointing at Rota in the crowd instead of greeting her directly 😂😂 Leo remembers something Phileo once told her during training that the most dangerous person in the palace is not the Emperor, but Queen Usis. He explained that Usis has complete control over the Emperor, like a puppet master. She may seem naive and cheerful, but she is actually very powerful and clever. Watching Usis now, Leo starts to believe this might be true.

I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule you will find me in most romantic historical manhwa comment sections

Spoiler!
Varya acts a bit strange around Usis, she looks scared when talking to her but quickly returns to normal afterward. Other nobles at the party admire Varya and treat her with respect, almost like she is already part of the Borreoti family. Only a few people, including Rota, avoid her and seem jealous. Later, Empress Tigria calls Leo aside to her private garden. Away from others, they talk more casually and comfortably. Tigria brings up her son, Scandia, and asks Leo how she figured out the princess’s secret. Leo confidently says she figured it out by observing his body 😏😏 She doesn’t deny anything and instead lets Tigria see that she is clever and not ordinary. Leo also realizes that Tigria has her own secrets, including feelings for another man who is 👀👀 Because of this, Leo gains an advantage and Tigria cannot treat her lightly anymore. The two understand that they are on the same side and share a common goal. Tigria then calls Leo “vicious” but in a positive way, even praising her potential to become better than her father, Phileo 🤭 Finally, she reveals the real reason she called Leo to inform her that the nobles’ association meeting will begin soon and asks her to pass the message to Phileo.
After the tea party ended, Phileo came to pick up Leo and Varya. The three of them acted very loving in front of everyone before leaving the palace together in the Borreoti carriage. During the ride home, Leo was stuck sitting between Phileo and Varya and felt completely suffocated because they kept sitting too close to her. Even when she tried to move away, they refused to let her sit alone 😂😂 While they traveled, Leo told Phileo about her conversation with Empress Tigria. The Empress warned them that the nobles’ association meeting would happen soon. Varya became worried because the imperial palace seemed ready to make a move against the North, and powerful nobles connected to the Emperor would attend the meeting. She feared even the Borreotis might not be able to stop what was coming.

Seeing Varya anxious, Phileo comforted her gently. He told her not to think only about dangerous things and instead focus on simple happy thoughts, like food, clothes, birds singing in the morning, or snacks she could eat with Leo. His calm words helped Varya relax and smile again 🤭🤭 Leo, however, felt annoyed watching the two adults act so affectionate while forgetting she was right there with them 🤣
To get back at them, Leo revealed something embarrassing. She told Varya that Varya had almost rejected Phileo because she thought he still loved Leo’s biological mother, Regina. Phileo looked disgusted and explained that Regina was basically like a sister to him because they grew up together. He denied ever loving her romantically. Leo then shocked Varya even more by revealing that she was not Phileo’s biological daughter. Varya was completely stunned by the truth 👀👀
Later that night, Phileo and Leo explained everything to Varya. They told her how Regina ran away with a mysterious knight, how Phileo first met Leo in the orphanage, how badly the orphanage workers treated her, and how Connie’s true identity was actually Saura. The biggest shock for Varya was learning that the “mysterious knight” was actually Remus Olore who Leo’s biological father. Leo spoke coldly about Lemus and said he was barely worth calling a father. Phileo openly called him a criminal and even discussed ways to punish him if necessary. Leo eagerly talked about becoming stronger so she could someday take revenge on him herself. Their calm attitude shocked Varya. Unlike them, she became furious and heartbroken after hearing what happened to Leo. She could not understand how someone could betray a woman, abandon his child, and cause so much suffering.
Varya became so angry that she truly wanted to kill Lemus herself. Tears filled her eyes as she imagined everything Leo had suffered through. Phileo gently held her hands and thanked her for caring about Leo so deeply. Leo hugged Varya tightly and thanked her too. Leo explained that although learning the truth about her birth once hurt her deeply, she had healed over time because she had Phileo beside her. In the end, she believed that being Phileo’s daughter was what truly mattered.
