Maybe I'm slow...but why didn't Shuraka spend the night with Tei? And can Shuraka not understand Tei's position? It's an arranged marriage. Tei was a stand in. While Shuraka is committed how could he expect Tei to be? Tei met him as a child and the engagement/marriage was a political maneuver. Tei's perspective is rational. How can Shuraka not understand this and attempt to correct Tei's assumptions? Kicking Tei out of his bed (figuratively) only further solidifies Tei's assumption (that it's a political marriage).

@TeamLeewon it's not about the position, Shuraka don't want to hurt Tei he have no sexual experience so when he sees Tei's blood he thought he hurt his beloved and for Shuraka Tei is his only bride, do you miss how Shuraka gifted so many things to Tei's country for them to treat Tei well and establish Tei's reputation as Sultana(empress)
@TeamLeewon Shuraka is doing his best to hold back because apparantly his libido is too high, that's why he uses the drugs. Also, Shuraka has zero experience in love, s**, or relationships. His mother was most likely araanged marriaged to the emperor as well plus the emperor has several concubines. So any ideas about relationships would be shaped by this. Shuraka doesn't understand why Tei is holding back especially since he remembers how sweet and warm Tei was to him when they first met.
@Reshmi d thanks. That explains the separate beds. Though now I wonder if Tei realizes this. The presents are lovely, extravagant and romantic. But. Gifts don't convey feelings especially if they're something within the power of the gift giver to give. There should be discussion of expectations and Shuraka should articulate his intentions.

@Lucy I, mistakenly, thought S took the drug to hold his libido until he reunited with Tei. It's a little odd to misinterpret adult affection towards a child as romantic love. At best S could expect platonic affection. S, as a royal, should understand the dynamics of an arranged political marriage. It's fine to be a little disappointed but his expectations should be measured. Tei would perceive his affection as nostalgic at best. The power dynamics alone makes Tei subservient. It's natural that Tei wouldn't believe this a love marriage or that S is obligated to be monogamous.
@TeamLeewon it's not that simple tei mother was also married for politics he saw how it was a love less marriage for his mother and Shuraka's mother maybe avoided him because of his powers so both are hurting it will take time to understand each other as adults
