in the novel, this part (chapter 38-42) Qiyu kicked Liqing spill blood, he was dying at that moment, (before that he told Pei Xingnu about checking on the wooden-box as it had very strange smell), Pei Xingnu told his friend Dr Qi Miao n they found out the poison was from that box not the cake. whoever eat that cake which has the smell sticked on the cake n drink wine will trigger the poison work faster. that was how the emperor got. n quickly prescribe the medicine to cure the emperor. Emperor woke up n asked for Liqing, the emperor told Qiyu that he was an idiot to ill treat Liqing, Emperor knew Liqing was the son of late emperor Xiao but he wanted to undo the mistake he made, that why he told general Song to adopt Liqing n rescue Liqing from being slave at the border area. that moment Qiyu realised he did horrible mistake n released Liqing from prison, Liqing was dying but tried to get out of prison himself n got on the carried of his friend Dr Qi Miao back to his adopted father Song.  Hu'ner was caught n put in prison n got torture till he died there..... later his younger brother tried to prevent his death n chase after Qiyu n Liqing. Story is very sad n long, a lot of thing going on with Liqing after that, got kidnap, scam, torture, chased.. then died n reborn again.... till the end.

@Bl is life i like Pei Xingnu character ( he has very sad ending: Huner's brother n other brother of Liqing torture him so bad, took his eyes, cut his face, turn him into a monster... n imprisoned him in the dundeon,...till Qiyu n Liqing saved him but he wanted to die in fire when the brother of Liqing burnt the entire city down).

i prefer Pei Xingnu marry and live happily everafter with Liqing then Qiyu. however, the author want Qiyu n Liqing back in the end. that is the only thing i dislike about this novel. other than that, it's very good novel compare to other toxic novel. However, no matter what ppl did evil thing, they will have to undo it at some point.

@Bl is life Oh i forgot, the so-called "brother of Liqing" not his real brother, Liqing is the last descendant of late emperor Xiao. From previous part 1 of novel. while emperor Xiao Xiye tried to win Shen Yu's love n neglected his 5years old son (belong to the queen) sick. (the baby got poison by the real "Shen Yu" (daughter of the rich family where Shen Yu's mother worked as slave). the baby died soon after that n the emperor Xiao lost his kingdom to Yun Xuan Xiao ( current emperor n father of Qiyu). While running away from army of Yun Xuan Xiao conquer the city, the queen escaped all the way to area of Pei Xingnu live, she adopted another orphanage baby n made him the descendant of late Xiao emperor. the actual descendant of Liqing (son of one of the unfavourable concubine), Liqing mother became slave of the Huner tribe n got killed during the war of Jing n Huner's tribe. Ah... i need to read again this novel.. it's very good one
