in the novel, this part (chapter 38-42) Qiyu kicked Liqing spill blood, he was dying at that moment, (before that he told Pei Xingnu about checking on the wooden-box as it had very strange smell), Pei Xingnu told his friend Dr Qi Miao n they found out the poison was from that box not the cake. whoever eat that cake which has the smell sticked on the cake n drink wine will trigger the poison work faster. that was how the emperor got. n quickly prescribe the medicine to cure the emperor. Emperor woke up n asked for Liqing, the emperor told Qiyu that he was an idiot to ill treat Liqing, Emperor knew Liqing was the son of late emperor Xiao but he wanted to undo the mistake he made, that why he told general Song to adopt Liqing n rescue Liqing from being slave at the border area. that moment Qiyu realised he did horrible mistake n released Liqing from prison, Liqing was dying but tried to get out of prison himself n got on the carried of his friend Dr Qi Miao back to his adopted father Song. Hu'ner was caught n put in prison n got torture till he died there..... later his younger brother tried to prevent his death n chase after Qiyu n Liqing. Story is very sad n long, a lot of thing going on with Liqing after that, got kidnap, scam, torture, chased.. then died n reborn again.... till the end.
