@Villainess_Simp I get what you're saying but in novels and manga like this forgive is just another name for I'm going to overlook every crappy thing they do to me in the future and not actively install consequences on behavior that very much needs some form of consequence we're not saying killed them but with no consequences now and more money than they have sense they need something to get them in line or else next thing you're going to see is there being a real scandal with her family look at how stupid her father is with scams, her mother hides receipts for the thing she buys That's disastrous for managing a household budget, and look at how stubborn her brother is about doing borderline illegal "business" with his insidious group of friends they are  going to get her in trouble.

@reinchel Same. Also, forgiveness should never mean that someone doesn't get punished. Really loving someone means that you want to them to be good people and will correct them if need be. Enabling bad behavior isn't something that family should. Enabling is not love and it's not forgiveness. I'm tired of people using the concept of family as a shield against consequences. Cutting bad people out of your life, family or not, is a good thing.
