Inside the Otherworld, Valar reflects on how unusual it is for him to feel genuine worry for someone, but he realizes he would do anything for his daughter, Arellin. Using his senses, he locates her quickly. She is sitting alone, hugging her knees. When she looks up and sees him, she thinks it might be a dream or hallucination because she never expected him to come for her. Valar gently touches her face and confirms he is real. When she asks why he came, he answers simply that it’s obvious because she is his daughter. He hugs her and reassures her, showing rare warmth and affection.
