@Rk but that's the f*cking part HE'S NOT A PART OF THE MURIM YOU RET***. The point is him being a f*cking scholar. If you didn't know there are normal ppl in these worlds. Not everyone learns martial arts and he wasn't supposed to at all. He doesn't try to become the strongest nor does he care for power or renown. He wants peace. Fighting back in that moment was what he believed would give him that. Ofc he could've defended himself, and obviously he would've if it was at any other point in time after he learned martial arts. But he's not a martial artist in the end of the day, he's a scholar. He works with papers. If you had a desk job and your hobby was idk writing or smth, you wouldn't want to suddenly write the declaration of independence or smth (this was a really poor example I'm sorry). If someone aimed a gun at you, and told you if you fought back against a random guy on the steeet who picked a fight with you, you'd probably prefer to stay quiet and take the hits, because it's better then taking a bullet.
I'm tired of this stupid debate. If you wanna think I'm running away because I don't have anything to say then sure think that idgaf.
