@RiftansWife I mean hes also belittling her constantly and making decisions for her, which is WHY she feels the need to sneak around. I still think war was too early for her, but his insistence on keeping her in a birdcage is only harming her. They need to find a middle ground.

And dont forget he was an orphan at young age. And later he joined the mercenaries, and spend his whole life at wars. so he doesn't know how to communicate properly with a woman.
And let's not forget it's all happening in (kinda my guess) middle age or something. At that time people were didn't value women (riftan adores maxi, just doesn't know how to show properly)

@RiftansWife I have, doesnt change my point or what I said. Hes still constantly putting her down, dismissing her wants, and ignoring her feelings, making her feel guilty for simply wanting the freedom to choose. They objectively need to find a middle ground where she isnt jumping into a shark pit, but he also isnt causing his wife to wither away in misery. Knowing the how and why of his behavior doesnt change that.
