Don't take it negatively. I don’t like when they call their partner 'wife' in bl. Bro he's a man. You can call him husband instead of wife.

I don't know how I should feel about this you kno theres something called a malewife right? But I kind of understand? Idk
I mean, I personally find it cuter since "wife" and "husband" terms are adorable since it relates to marriage, I like that wether or not they are the same gender they can be still called like those "straight" terms.
I'm with you. Wife is for woman. If he were a woman Boem wouldn't love him. Idk if it has anything with the translation or the original like that.
Honestly it's fine, i know a few men who actually like being called by what's generally defined as a "feminine" terms when intimate. Like "princess" and "wife". I see nothing wrong with it :/ (and yes these guys are mostly in qu*** relationships)
So all in all, whatever floats their boat haha maybe it's a kink or maybe cute petnames for one another, but hey, if they like it, they like it haha
Considering this is meant to be a period piece, it was not strange for it to be a clear sign of roles back then. It's not all that strange now though. Even Greeks and Romans did it and tended to treat their male partners as 'wives' rather than (husbands). It is more a definition of role play sexually, but not meant to be literal. A lot of things like this can be lost in translation, because anything besides being a top and doing manly things in bedmeant you were basically a woman🤷♀️
