@lana del gay you're right! But one thing we should note though, yaoi is made by women for women initially (as absurd as it is). I think few straight men and gay men would like to read it though.
You might see patterns like the bottom being all girlish, portraying feminine qualities and the top being masculine as normal (I'm not saying for all yaois, because I've seen some yaois that the bottom is more masculine and it just rubs me the right way).
Anyways, if I see a yaoi I like, I enjoy. I don't really care much about these patterns. Masculine and feminine behaviour was already just a societal speculation. It changes, it's not perfect and it tends to put each gender in a box
