@The King Of Weed else if you wrote that comment for a different audience who are okay blindly supporting the mc of a story just because they are the mc, and to oppose people just because that's the story they somehow chose to read and ended up hating the mc for certain specific actions of his (probably including because of reasons that the author himself wants the reader to hate the mc for those things, temporarily, momentarily, so that he can turn around the story), then i guess good for you? And good luck to those blind believers as well.

@June Von Ascham Look, I’m not blindly supporting the MC or saying he’s right. I’m saying you picked up a story called Magic Emperor with a ruthless MC and now acting surprised when he’s ruthless? That’s on you.
You said it yourself: maybe the author wants us to hate him at that point. Exactly, that's part of the arc. If he starts out soft, there’s no climb!!!
And yeah, some fans will blindly defend the MC, but that’s their choice. I’m here following the story, not blindly defending anyone. So if you’re mad people dislike or support the MC for reasons the author intended, then that’s your hill, not mine.
