We see his growth starting when he understands that his growing romantic feelings have no place in the "contractual" relationship he has with Jaekyung, and with luck we'll see Jaekyung also grow to want and express his own romantic feelings so that they both can grow.
I really am interested in what the author has for Jaekyung's background to have hardened him the way he is. From the fight, it appears the opponent knew him from his childhood so I wonder what that could mean for his current personality. He always seems closed off to everyone.
