Spoiler!
Camilla prepares to meet a guest who is a priest named Daniel (he is Emperor's number 1 lackey). She is not very fond of religious people because of her bad past experiences with them. However, she meets him politely. Daniel tells her that the church is interested in her because they believe her special ability might be a divine blessing. He invites her to attend the opening ceremony of the Festival of Abundance, an important event held by the temple. Before leaving, Daniel gives Camilla a “sacred relic,” a necklace said to have divine power and bring eternal peace. Camilla feels uneasy hearing the word “eternal,” but hides her discomfort. After he leaves, Chris tells her that the relic is quite popular and believed to protect people from illness. However, Camilla finds it strange because the necklace looks simple and not very special, making her question why people value it so much.
Camilla hears about a red stone necklace that people believe can prevent illness and improve health. It’s treated like a sacred treasure, but it’s very expensive and can only be obtained after making a large donation to a temple. Camilla finds this suspicious, since the priests who preach equality are clearly favoring those with money. Still, she wonders if the stone might really work.
I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule
