@komaiwa232 I know.That's why I critize them.
"At least put warning before" they do and still hypocrites.I wish some artists who express themselves this way would actually get seriously criticized and canceled for it.Cause Comics criticism isn’t as developed or taken as seriously as Film and Literary criticism.
That's how they get readers attention = Yep.They excuse the criminal acts of terrible characters.
Even if their plots are well-written, their work seems to prioritize shock value over artistic value lmao

@Her Okay wait, you actually ate that up though
'Comics criticism isn't as developed' that part hit. Because you're right, if this was a critically acclaimed film or novel, people would be dissecting the framing, the gaze, the intention behind every panel. But with manhwa, it gets brushed off as 'dark storytelling' when half the time it's just trauma p*n with a pretty art style.
I'm not saying every author with a dark plot needs to be canceled, but I am saying if your 'artistic vision' constantly relies on SA as character development, maybe the vision ain't that artistic. It's lazy writing wearing a trench coat.
What's your take on the ones that actually DO handle it well? Like, is there any manhwa that you think walked that line correctly? Because I feel like that list is SHORT
