I've asked this question far too long—

How do I bare what's deep inside,

And let my soul no longer hide?

 

My spirit sleeps in shadows deep,

Awake it now from dreamless sleep.

Let thunder crack the silent sky,

And teach my heart how to cry.

 

A spark of love—I long to feel,

Something honest, pure, and real.

To flood this hollow, aching shell,

O muses watching from above,

Hear my plea, and send me love.
