@emperorKevin I know brutal the reality is and I totally agree with your opinion. What I'm mad about is, Joan knows how precious the horse is for Edward because it's his favorite one and the way she abandoned him and left the decision of his life even without consulting the owner of the horse and not involving him in his last moments.  For example, if a person owns a pet they have cared for all their life and it gets wounded doesn't have long to live, the person would want to spend more time with them and say their goodbyes but here Joan didn't even consider Edward's feelings but likes to take decisions for him.
