@Chamcham sure, back then men went for women half their age, but that doesn't make it moral or okay. But if we are excusing it for the sake of your argument, he is still a bad guy. He went and threatened them because he was offended they rejected him, which they have the right to do. When the mother rejected him on behalf of the daughter and stated that he was too old for her (which he is, this isnt an insult) he insulted them saying the daughter isnt that great either (and we can all appreciate how amazing the eldest daughter rly is).
Do you not see how its absolutely sick that he is talking about taking one sister as a wife and the other as a mistress. THEY ARE SISTERS. ITS DISGUSTING.
And just because something is legal doesn't include physical violence doesn't mean its okay to do. This man doesn't have to physically harm them to be a bad guy.

Now for the mildred, she never initiated anything and she never actually showed true intent behind wanting to kill him. She threatened him, just like he threatened her and her daughters. Mr walford didn't stop her from committing murder, he stopped her from making a scene.

if you are going to argue that milared would've killed that man if mr walford didn't stop her. Then i can argue that that man would've taken both sisters against their will. They did infact say that they are willing to with him but thats only because he threatened them. So in the end they are not actually consenting.

you honestly should reevaluate your morals and beliefs
