alright so while i think that minho's misogyny and rudeness is definitely not the best, no one deserves this kind of treatment. this is literally sexual assault, and people would not be tolerating it if the roles were reversed. 🤷🏽♀️ the fact that the author is trying to make minho as unlikeable as possible is kind of off putting for me as well, since minho is a perfect example of 'fridging', aka the act of creating a character only to either kill them off or hurt them for the sole purpose of furthering another character's plot. i mean, they even admitted that minho was always a doomed character (reference the BL side story for example).
it's just so creepy to look at this and be reminded that the author is also venting their frustration out through these characters by torturing minho, since he is literally based off their ex-boyfriend apparently.
im not at all justifying the character's actions, but im just saying that minho as a character was never supposed to be redeemable. it's just sad to see, since he had a lot of potential as a character imo. the author could've expanded more on his backstory and such, but chose not to. minho's story could've easily gone for a mental health orientated route, since he obviously has a lot of baggage which was never really addressed. i might be a little biased as someone who is studying in the field of psychology, but sometimes these kinds of behaviours are subconsciously internalised.
i more to say but i honestly can't be fuc***, since i have a lecture at 5am. but yeah, this sort of feels like the author victimising the perpetrator - although the situation is still morally gray as both sides are incorrect. anyway though, please reply with your own opinions if they constrast from mine, because i would love to hear any news outlooks. anddddd... that's all.
