@Figgyfrac he got a point there tbh, look at Ettiene , he was alwaays sick because of his mother empresss
@𝔐𝔞𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔟𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔰 As an emperor? Sure. He has logical points that I don't disagree with. As a parent? As a fuc**** human being with thoughts and feelings? He's fuc**** trash. 0/10 will not recommend. He has no care or regard for his son. And it might be my daddy issues talking but you don't talk like that to your kid no matter how old they are. Not even a cheap "hey I'm sorry I neglected you your whole life and added insult to injury by showing blatant favoritism to a kid thats not even mine but would you mind helping me keep this country together cuz by destroying your mom who you have a complex and abusive relationship with?". Nope just "Ugh you're just like your mom. Let me lay it out for ya you dont mean sh** to me. My fav is gonna be king. Add some decent after thought reasoning that makes up for nothing. You gonna be on board with this for what? No real incentive for you. Except your life. Maybe. Also we're gonna go after your family" Emperor not only did not understand the assignment he handed in an psychological pipebomb to a emotionally starved physically weak person who is is FUC**** SON! Theres a million ways he could've handled this. He chose all the wrong ones.
@𝔐𝔞𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔟𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔰 ohk and? Firstly u never paid attention hence that state , you can't even be a good father then it's like u r sooooo clear about your preference of some other family's kid and not once do u apologize... I don't see what point either of these parents have
@Figgyfrac to be fair, the emperor was drugged and raped by the empress and forced to conceive a child with her that he never wanted. It's understandable that he would want to distance himself from the empress at all costs, and unfortunately that would've also included his son.
@Sugarhoneyicedtea yeah weirdly? I'm not fair to child abusers. Call it a personality flaw. Someones trauma isn't an excuse to hurt others. Everyone has reason for what they do or how they became that way. Ask any inmate ever. Imma draw a hard and harsh line tho and say I don't care.
@Sugarhoneyicedtea idk but ever heard of children shouldn't pay for their parents sin? It's the same ... Like if u have read I'm only a stepmother but my daughter is so cute... He was raped at the age if 15 but still provided his daughter even though that whole thing is traumatic to him he even changed over time.... Everyone goes through sh** no reason to be sh** towards others the only way u make a difference is by not being the way ur abuser was
@Yuyang is pwetty unfortunately everyone reacts to trauma differently. I have read that one and I loved how he changed over time, but the only reason he changed was because of the stepmothers influence. He had someone to help him see what he was doing to the poor child and help him change himself. The emperor doesn't, and in this story he is honestly reacting typical of a ra** victim who was forced to have a child with their rapist, especially since the empress likely kept the prince away from the emperor so that he couldn't influence him away from her. They live in different palaces, most likely only interact for public functions, to keep the prince under her influence so she can be in control once the emperor is gone.
I think if the emperor had someone like the stepmother from the other story around him, he'd be able to change too. Hopefully that's what Ekhart can do.
