it only becomes a harem way late into the story, like right now he's 17. it becomes a harem when he's 20 and realizes "the true ending" level late. before then it's just the blushing, jealousy, and hate type of troupes on the girls side and him shrugging it off cuz yeah, highschool girls and he's mentally older. You can tell the author shuddered at the thought of the under 18 kind of stuff too :p
@Ethan Elliot Even if they are adults, a harem and the usual harem cliches still downgrade the story, so it doesn't make it any better. If anything, it more or less tricks you into thinking there's no harem, and then half way in, the annoying harem sh** comes in, and you got too invested into the story to quit, and have to scroll through endless chapters of useless harem and relationship stuff to get to the plot.
I know from experience that if you skip any chapter thats related to harem BS, it changes nothing in the main plot. In other words, it's just pure filler content to pad out pages.

the true ending requires multiple people to get blessed by the different end bosses x.O; each one is either a harem member or a close friend of the MC because he's ______ (I can't make a spoiler bubble in a spoiler bubble so you get nothing) expecting a bunch of twenty somethings of the opposite gender to never get lovy dovy, but being the closest of friends risking their lives and sharing their most intimate pasts with each other is more unrealistic than a reverse harem about twin billionaire werewolves competing for a bland, college age, indebt, fat and flat girl with blue hair and nose rings (an actual plot)
@Rebel against the harem I really don't get it how people hate harems stories where the characters are well written and the setting is good, i don't think harem's ever downgrades a story actually unless it goes against something, relationships and dynamics play a important part in stories, but I totally get you, most harem stories are really annoying but I don't think you should think a story is bs just because it has a hare
