it only becomes a harem way late into the story, like right now he's 17. it becomes a harem when he's 20 and realizes "the true ending" level late. before then it's just the blushing, jealousy, and hate type of troupes on the girls side and him shrugging it off cuz yeah, highschool girls and he's mentally older. You can tell the author shuddered at the thought of the under 18 kind of stuff too :p
@Ethan Elliot Even if they are adults, a harem and the usual harem cliches still downgrade the story, so it doesn't make it any better. If anything, it more or less tricks you into thinking there's no harem, and then half way in, the annoying harem sh** comes in, and you got too invested into the story to quit, and have to scroll through endless chapters of useless harem and relationship stuff to get to the plot. I know from experience that if you skip any chapter thats related to harem BS, it changes nothing in the main plot. In other words, it's just pure filler content to pad out pages.
