No, there isn't historically documented a white person saving slaves or a native american proudly declaring himself a "humble slave"

If we are talking abt things that are 'strongly inaccurate and insensitive' to real world trauma, a survivor of sexual assault would never willingly get together with their abuser. Yet the BL community treats 'assault to lovers' stories as absolute masterpieces, giving toxic characters endless thirst edits and redemption arcs. If readers can separate fiction from reality to romanticize literal abuse, they can apply that same logic to a dark historical setting.
