But regarding your point, you see that's the thing about trauma and abuse. They leave such a deep scar in your mind and soul that even if the person causing them changes or becomes nice, even then that trauma does not go away. You cannot bring yourself to forgive them and be on good terms and just forget or move on. It takes TIME. And even then for some people it's not possible to do so. Keira was killed by her father and it hasn't even been a year since she's come back. How can it be expected of her to see the changes in her father and try to bond with him? She's not even properly processed that traumatic experience!! And her dad's not helping either. He has neglected his children all his life to hold up the family name and will continue to do so. He doesn't express his emotions or let his thoughts be known. It will take a LOT OF TIME and LOTS OF COMMUNICATION before they start seeing eye to eye.
