@Yohanna if I can add on a lot of Korean BL stories you see usually are originally created with a heterosexual relationship and redrawn to be gay to appeal to a lesser (but rapidly growing) community for profit! This means they basically just swapped out every *she* for *he" and slapped a sticker that says "BL" on it.
This also can imply that instead of rewriting the story to appeal to what the real life gay community experiences they give common feminine tropes to the bottom (including appearances) and end up receiving loads of support and profit because it's one of the few sources of media that openly displays gay s** as a normative!
