the correct answer, in this situation, is for one provence to become so overwhelmingly powerful that no other could dare touch it, and that one provence to desire continental peace. In any situation where war would break out, that overly powerful provence would then act as buffer, completely negating any chance of a war-on-foot and force it to be one that takes place on the diplomatic table instead.
In our world, the US used to be this super power until... well... no need to get into decades of political scandals, conspiracies, blown money, and the mere existance of anti-patriotic sloganering. The moment no one is there to discipline the children, the children will do whatever they want; it's simple human biology and simple geo politics.
@Ethan Elliot yup, peace / socialism / communism are just but a pipe dream. the only way for humans to behave is survive of the fittest and capitalism.
@Harlock peace is obtainable on a grand scale, but not on a small scale. neighborhood conflicts are always going to occur, that's why we have the police. The desire for more is hardcoded into our DNA. Capitalism is the best way we've found to allow this urge to drive an economy towards a positive outcome. Even so, capitalism without controls will lead to corporatism, which is just socialism where the corporations are in control instead of the elite. That's why American Capitalism, where the government has the right to break up corporations, or simply stop mergers they believe will negatively effect the free market, has become the guiding light that other developed nations based their free markets upon... unfortunately we are all falling into the same pitfall now, which is not using that power often enough.
Socialism requires everyone to have the same system of beliefs, which is why small communities centered around a church have been able to be successful with it. Communism is socialism, except with a dictator instead of a small group of elites controlling the helm.
Both communism and socialism requires altruism, which goes against human nature. Jesus Christ was not thought of as the son of G** because he SAID he was the son of G**; he was thought of as the son of G** because he was an altruist in its purist sense. The apostles who followed him were there more to keep people from taking advantage of him than anything else. To never think of ones self, and to only think of others, to only DO for others, to sacrifice for strangers, that was the true miracle of Jesus Christ. btw, I'm not christian, I just think that the man was amazing because there is no way in he** that I would wash the feet of Kamala Harris just because she got some toe fungus. And unless you'd be willing to wash the feet of Donald Trump just because he got some toe fungus...
