@the20yo.catlady the problem with her is, she doesn't know when to stop. She has to understand her limits and stop before collapsing but if she were left to it, she would work until she collapses and eventually kills herself. And more than her dreams, the knights are concerned about what riftan will do if something happens to maxi. Riftan will simply go on a rampage and wreck havoc.

@Yonko4ever Then they should HELP her learn restraint instead of removing/denying her opportunities to gain more experience. She has already learned so much about controlling and conserving her mana. Yes she has overexerted herself in the past, but that is the past for a reason. She has learned from that and now knows so much more about herbal and medical remedies. And has learned several useful spells in healing, defensive, and offensive magic. The more she grows the more she should be allowed to test her limits or else she’ll never know of her full potential. And yeah them being at war isn’t the best time for this, but it is the situation they are in so they might as well make the best of it. They need to stop treating her like she might break every bone in her body by stepping on a pebble and if they won’t, at least teach her how to I don’t know crush the fuc**** pebble or something.
And she shouldn't have to worry about Riftan flying off the handle all the time. Dude needs to learn how to express his care for her without yelling or turning into a raging maniac. Yes he cares for her deeply, but he also severely underestimates her abilities. His overprotection is under the guise of love and worry for her, but in reality it is literally stifling her. Maxi has shown so much growth and still has more to go, but Riftan is way behind her in the growth department. They can't have a simple conversation about her wanting to do more without him yelling “you’re a noble woman who shouldn’t have to do anything!” or scaring her into submission because he knows she isn’t the best at confrontation.
The most growth he has shown is allowing her to learn and practice magic, but with everything else in the relationship has moved like a foot or something and it is mostly his fault. If he’d just stop screaming at her and treat her closer to an equal in the relationship, then maybe she’d open up to him more and act within his concerns.
