@inari saku Also there's the issue that the love interests that are usually given to MC's most times don't feel like people, rather they feel like they're just a trope addition or fanservice(and an overly repeated one at that) and nothing more which is another reason why it's hard to feel good when a love Interest comes into the scene

Btw, I've read stories where the love interest appearing was fun and nice and I loved the romance aspect but that's because those authors actually wrote the love interests properly and didn't make them "just a trope point" or "a fanservice doll"
