@Zed @Zed I don't think it's that she can't see it, it's more that she doesn't care.
It's not red-hot hatred, it's grey indifference. It doesn't change what they did to her and they could change right back on a whim. Also acknowledging it means they'll expect forgiveness. She doesn't want to forgive them and frankly, they don't deserve it. Her brother didn't have any sort of remorse or introspection until he'd gotten what he wanted from her, now he feels guilty. Worse, he's trying to put a rather price on the pain and suffering she's endured, and a rather cheap one at that. He's trying to force her forgiveness to make himself feel better, he wants absolution from her, for her not to hate him for what he did- like he deserves. he wants her to ignore and forget everything that was done to her,  because he feels bad. Ignoring that the person who has been repeatedly harmed for years only wants to leave. She doesn't want revenge she wants to legally and formally get her freedom from the lot of them.
If he truly wanted to make things right he'd outright say he was wrong, without demanding her forgiveness, help her get a divorce, and leave.
Her father's a piece of trash, both his illegitimate children were neglected and abused by their stepmother and their siblings under his roof and he's never batted an eye, or tried to stop it. He's added to their pain. His son is showing more concern and care for his sick daughter Lucy than he did.
