@M.Monroe That's so sad 😢 I never would have guessed that was going on there... a curfew, too?!
Canada is a nice country, but we can also get hot weather in the summer. For instance, where I live it was 30°C today (humidex 39°C). It kept threatening to storm but just rained a bit, so it has remained hot and humid. And of course, we can get bitterly cold winters. The geese have been flying south for the winter for about three weeks now, which is a bittersweet reminder that fall and winter is just around the corner...
But yeah, Canada is pretty good safety-wise. Hopefully, the area where you live is safer than some other areas 😟

This country has a "sister island" as they say called Barbuda, and it's way better than here. I lived there for a bit and it was so nice.
The sand on the beaches have little shells in them giving the sand a pink appearance(the water is also really clear) and there are such nice places you can go to like forests and a big stone area that people used to hike on. I even saw deer running around. There is also a whole sanctuary for its national bird. Sadly, after it was destroyed by a hurricane I haven't been back to visit but I hear it isn't the same anymore

I remember when Prince Harry visited and they made me and 2 other kids give him a wooden carving that was so gosh darn heavy😭

But on the country I'm currently staying in I doing think it's getting safer any time soon. MAJORITY of the crime committed here is done by minors. I can't tell you how many times I've see school boys stabbing each other🤦

And it's usually over the dumbest things. They even founded 2 "gangs". For what? Nobody knows, but it's ridiculous. A special jail was made for them specifically but it doesn't matter as police aren't doing anything at all to catch them even though they know who they are.
