I know she suffer so much that she's having a hard time to trust Carcel especially since Carcel was there when her husband died on her second life. But girl, Carcel is trying to open up things for you slowly. You should at least try to open up things too and confirm for yourself if Carcel only saying and doing those things for you just because he is pitying you. Slowly try to look things on Carcel's side as well, maybe you'll understand one day so that hopefully you can tell everything about him.

You are right about the fact that Carcel saw Ines and her second husband before he died but Ines says it herself that Carcel helped them escape and she was very confused as to why he helped them when he was supposed to capture them. So Carcel has got nothing to do with the second husband dying.
