Hmmm. With this opera I'm also thinking Is edith really their daughter???? Or shes also some hidden child as well???? Since shes the only one being abuse in their family.

idk if this true or not but i read somewhere she's not the count's daughter. she's adopted (novel forum spoiler)
@ae it's correct, edith is actually an illegitimate daughter of the count's sister whose father is unknown. He took her and use her to gain information for his own benefits. That is why edith had been abused since children, hence why there are bad rumors of edith as the count ask her to seduce men for information.
