You claim you're talking to a wall, but talking to a wall refers to conversing with someone who is impossible to reason with or that ignores/doesn't understand your words. You haven't engaged in a conversation to claim you're being ignored, you certainly aren't being misunderstood, nor have you attempted to reason with @Tang.

I'm openly gay and I've never had any problems with my family over it, and as for internet strangers, I could hardly care whether they like me or not. Do you? Do you tie your value as a person to the opinions of people you don't know or care about: opinions that have no impact on your life? I would hope not; I've always viewed people who do as insecure and pitiful for it.
