@Prinzinc In some worlds/works, healing magic is expensive, due to rarity or monopoly. That would also affect perception.

@Galactic Navy Officer Right, precisely.  The availability/rarity of healing magic for the average individual would play a big impact on the perception of injuries.  There is also the variable of diseases possibly being incurable with healing magic or if healing magic can restore lost limbs/organs.

Man, my mind is really going back through, "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic" when I'm talking about this.
