@Tired27 He didn't win, but he severely injured the guy; it was still an effective attack, so the gap is enough that MC can't beat him, but that he can still stall for time. This is how fantasy battles work: Every fight has one person who is 'objectively stronger' and one person who is 'objectively weaker', but it still takes minutes to hours (or days, weeks, and months in more exaggerated cases) to settle the fight unless there is an EXTREME gap in strength (the level of difference where they can catch the weaker person's sword between their fingers or kill them in a single, unavoidable blow). In the several hundred manhwas, manhuas, and mangas I've read, I've never seen a series where this was not true.
Even in real combat with a large gap in skill, someone fighting with the sole intent of defense can last quite a while. Whether it be war or duels, one you can find countless historical examples of, and the other I have personal experience with.
10 seconds is not a long time. 10 seconds is one or two sword clashes. Just running in circles could buy 10 seconds.
