I will give you a counter then... even though Tracy us a 18 year old in her mind.. she still has kep the OG story in her mind which is very much on track of being true if she doesn't intervene...
considering her uncle... he is obviously very hostile towards Tracy.. and still hasn't pickep up on what exactly the church is planning.. he is struck by perpetual stupidity seeing only immediate gains....
and considering Hubbs.. it is a fact he came to annul the engagement.. it is also a fact that he looked down on Viana and was condescending towards not only her but her grandfather.. that kind of first impression is not something you recover from easily..
also.. his actions from the OG story is not something you can forget easily... especially for someone deeply susupicious and cautious person like Tracy...she is intent on breaking the engagement because in the long run she will be dependant on someone else for survival.. she doesn't want that... not to mention she knows what will happen if she leaves the Viana domain in her uncles and Oleg's hands in the future.... so her actions are understandable.. she doesn't want affection or something intangible.. she wants the succession rights... something firm she can hold onto.. an evidence of her grandfather's affection if you will take it that way.. it's not that she can't percieve it.. she is not bothered until there is something solid he can offer.. it can be attributed to her past life's experiences...
