@fezmannnn this plot arc is supposed to tell us the most about the history of magic from Serie's influence to Flamme's greatest contributions to humans and the empire. It really goes back to the point of magic and questions its existence through the storytelling of political struggles and power fights in this world of magic. It would really be a big revelation for the story either way with the conclusion of this arc whether or not Serie would actually be assassinated, as her existence proves the very existence of magic since mythical times and how and why it came to be revered. That is why Lowe wants to assassinate this symbol of magic to end magic.
