I read this in one go ... and the two are soooo frustrating to watch!!! Is it miscommunication?
i see that some people are hating on the uke... and I can kinda see why? Or am I missing something? Didn't the seme treat him well (except for the beginning I guess...)? The uke keeps hiding things (like that one time were he almost got raped by that gangster guy on the streets) and now the thing with that usb as well. I think the seme has been pretty good to him, but then there's the fact that (I think) the seme told him that was all just business. So I kinda understand why the uke would be so anxious to lose the seme.
im so bad with their names somehow I'm sorry haha! Anyone mind to share their opinion about their dynamic and why things have come to this?

I'd forgotten about the gangster ra**..
uke has been taking everything for granted when he clearly said that it was for business and now he feels pathetic.
The one to blame is the secretary, he shouldn't have poked his nose 🤬
Yes, it's definitely miscommunication but it's also more than that. Kwon has kept his past connection to Yeon-oh a secret and also didn't make clear how personal the contents of the USB are. He has kept just as much if not more from Yeon-oh.
Kwon picked a very inexperienced and naive guy to manipulate for his own ends. There is a gargantuan power imbalance here. In age, wealth, knowledge, experience- basically every metric. And all in Kwon's favour. He says it is just a practical arrangement but then acts like he's Jeon-oh's boyfriend. If it's just a practical arrangement it's pretty callous to act like someone means something to you when you really intend to just drop them like nothing. It should also be really obvious to Kwon that Jeon-oh really likes him (everything shows on his face) and that he basically had no prior sexual experience.
People are jumping on Jeon-oh (not you op) and even saying he deserves to be raped. He's a naive and desperate person in poverty getting fuc*** around by a fairly cold-hearted and older super rich guy. I'm kind of surprised that people give Kwon such a pass. The author even described him as having predatory aspects. Just because he's not a super-sadistic psychopath like similar characters in some other manwhas doesn't make him the innocent party here.
I think it's pretty clear that Kwon likes pulling all of the strings and holding all of the cards in this relationship (rich dudes are like this irl so good depiction tbh). And as soon as something isn't in his favour he gets vicious pretty quick.
Lmao I wrote too much.
I agree about the sexual assault by the loanshark. But Jeon-oh thinks Kwon won't believe him and is also scared to reveal something that he feels makes him look pathetic.
And these fears aren't unfounded because when Kwon sees the marks from when he was bitten and beaten during the assault he pretty much goes straight to accusing him of whoring around and only pretending to be innocent. Then he gets angry and has pretty rough s** with Jeon-oh that scares him and says some more cruel stuff to him.
@Aya, ai agree with everything you said. But also, I think Yeoh-oh, did in fact try to tell Kwon about the attempted SA, but Kwon, like with this chapter, brushed him off and basically said he was making excuses. I remembered being super pis*** at him for that. Like, how could he be so callous toward Yeoh-oh.
And I honestly feel like Yeoh-oh should have just handed the usb over, because now that Kwon knows, there's no way they can go back to pretending everything is the same. But once again, Kwon should have stood his ground and repeatedly reminded the Yeoh that he will not have feelings for him. Acting as a boyfriend, and treating him so kindly did nothing but lead him on, and make his feelings grow deeper. And he can act betrayed all he wants by not getting the usb, but the truth is that he's done the same to Yeoh, except in that case, the thing on the line was feelings.
Like, if he would allow Yeoh to feel more secure, and let him get a word in, there would hardly be room for miscommunication. But he's so secretive, and wants things done his own way.
Now, we have to watch Yeoh suffer because he agreed to go meet that piece of sh** actor.
@Dom Supremacy
I would have handed the USB over. But I'm not a lovesick person. I think Yeon-oh is too trusting and emotionally open for his own good. So I sympathize with his motive of not wanting to lose Kwon. And I agree that Yeon-oh didn't think through the repercussions- that things could be worse.
100% I think it was obvious early on that Yeon-oh couldn't handle a s** without feelings relationship. But I was frustrated when he cried and then Kwon decides to appease him instead of clarifying. Probably because he seemed genuinely uncomfortable when Jeon-oh started bawling and isn't actually detached. But he can't have it both ways. It would be totally disorienting for Yeon-oh, the way Kwon has acted in recent chapters is much too intimate and doting.
Thank you for saying it! People think I hate Kwon but I don't. I actually like cold and stoic types but he can absolutely be too cruel. Kwon was playing games too and in a much more calculated way. He likes to be in control a lot. And I don't think Yeon-oh dislikes that actually but he panicked over the thought of being completely cut off. Every time Yeon-oh tries to talk I cringe.
I really hope it doesn't play out in ra**. If Kwon ignores his peril because he's angry that would be pretty dark.
@Aya
That's what I'm afraid of. If the r@pe happens and Kwon, as usual, brushes off what Yeoh-oh is trying to tell him. Especially if out of anger he says something like "it wouldn't have happened if you had handed over the usb" which would be a lie, cause Loanshark and blond actor are out for blood and ahowed no sign at stopping one way or the other.
I just want Kwon to realise his faults. I like him as a character in general, and thinks he's a great fit for Yeoh, but it's his callous nature that I dislike.
It sucks that, this was Yeoh's one attempt at finally being selfish for once in his life to fight for something he wants (Kwon) and it backfired so horrendously. He already feels awful and pathetic over the whole thing, so a r@pe on top of that would be devastating. I just want someone to save and protect him.
Kwon was the first time he had s**, the first time someone treated him kindly, the first time that someone truly seemed to care about him. And to have it all blow up in his face is awful.
It's sad to see people actually hating on Yeoh, and wishing him ill though. That's insane.
@Dom Supremacy
I think Kwon choosing not to intervene would be the worst case scenario. I don't know if the author would go that dark though. They are capable of it based on other work but they want a happy ending. Yeah, he's said some pretty cruel and untrue things about Yeon-oh's sexuality which he has never apologized for. He likes to say mean things when he gets angry so I can definitely see him making Yeon-oh feel even guiltier. Meeting the loanshark might actually be a good thing for Kwon. Surely he should feel sorry after realizing that this guy forced oral on Jeon-oh and tried to ra** him, and has been harrassing him for ages.
He's way too callous. I cringe at some of the things he says. Sometimes I don't think it's intentional but rather he's not good with empathy. But other times he is doing it on purpose out of anger. I want him to apologize for accusing Jeon-oh of sleeping around and of faking innocence.
He's desperate not to lose someone he loves and it's just sad. And yes, I think it will make him feel helpless. Like his attempts at agency are actually dangerous. Being told by the person he loves that he's not wanted and then being raped would destroy him I think.
I thoroughly read through your guys comment and I'm so thankful to read both your insights! You're both so well spoken and actually thoughful about this story which I really appreciate ... sometimes it's hard to find commentors who are not only here for the sm**.
i sadly took a huge break when I read this and I regretfully forgot a lot of things. I believe I should read it again so I can understand why these two behave like that. To me, kwon just has way too many expectations of yeon who is obviously still kinda innocent while yeon naively follow kwon's request while being blindly in love ...
im still worried about characterizing them in a wrong way so it helps me a lot to read through different opinions! :
@aya
I actually want Kwon to meet the loanshark as well. I want him to realise the reason why Yeoh-oh was so good at bjs was because of this man who exhorted s3xual favours from Yeoh, while taking back the money from his dad. Also, the grim reality that this loanshark doesn't care solely about the money since when he SA'ed Yeoh he made it clear that he's a gangster and whether the loan is paid in full or not, he will harass Yeoh if he feels like it.
Honestly, him and the blond actor are a good match for eachother. Both are toxic characters or want to see others suffer if they do well.
I really do hope that Kwon doesn't end up being that dark, it's only that his past actions currently make it unclear what he will do. I still think he cares about Yeoh-oh because he does remember him from the past (even though Yeoh doesn't remember Kwon) but Kwon is also perplexed on why he cares in the first place. But since the usb is about his mother, and the last time he really seemed to have emotions was when she was alive, it seems Kwon would do anything for her (ie, acting horrible to Yeoh). Lets just hope for the best when chap 57 releases.
But I definitely saw this all coming. It was lining up too perfectly. The actor needed to catch Yeoh by himself, and the only way that would happen was if he had a falling out with Kwon. And the only way Kwon would be able to identify his feelings is if somethine horrible happens to Yeoh and Kwon is affected by seeing Yeoh hurt.
Now that I think about it, I am glad that he kept the usb. Only because, if he had given it up Kwon would have cut off ties with him, and the actor and loanshark would've still had their plans for him, and Kwon would have no reasons to get involved. With the usb still in Yeoh's possession, Kwon will at the very least still go looking for him just to make sure it's safe.
