Terrible writing. The gold tooth loser was talking to her through the freezer door, her dad showed up and the guy was yelling at him at the top of his lugs and she didn't hear that? They also started the fight right outside the freezer and she also didn't hear any of that? Way to much bs just for the sake of plot.

Marshrat is right, it's lazy writing. They straight up had a conversation while she was locked up in the freezer. Even if she couldn't hear her dad, her dad could (should have been able to) hear gold teeth negotiating with his daughter before the young beast came along.
It cheapens the story.
