Bruh, throughout her whole life, her opinion and feeling were always disregarded. She didn’t receive enough love from her one and only family. Her lover feels disgusted opon seeing her. The whole socity looks down and despises her. As she has said, she is now fed up and has had enough of being treated with contempt. It’s normal for a person who has been looked down for so long yearn to have rights and repect. 

Your so called “gruff” personality of Max is not so fitted, I believe the suited words for his personality is prideful and selfish. He gets and he wants and he will make sure to get it. In a relationship, if both sides have no mutual respect then the relationship is done for. Like Jubelian said, if I were in a relationship where my parner has no ounce of respect for me, with that bullshit of an attitude, I would be da** sure to dump them too.

And Max is not the only one that is leaving his comfort zome, she is too. She abandoned her noble prideful self to kneeled down and ask for permission from her father whom she’s been scared for most of her life. She’s been ignoring the judgemental gazes of others. And for the sake of the lords, she is not controlling him in anyway, if anything, Max is simping and it ain’t her fault lol.

Yes, I’m kinda lashing out because I’ve been in her shoes before and dear lord it was not very enjoyable when people treat you like a piece of dog sh**. Until you experience it to an extreme degree, you will know how toxic a relationship can be when it’s just one-sided, fully being controlled and underappreciated for everything you’ve done.

I agree with Ynot, i also know what it feels like to be in Juvels shoes, and trust me. It doesnt feel good at all. She doesnt want to go down the same path as her past self did. If you truly were paying attention you would see how she feels because as the readers, we know mostly everything about the story, we know what's on everyone's mind. We can clearly see that Juvel doesn't want to be treated like an unwanted parasite or just an absolute piece of garbage. Im glad that she's owning her life and not letting anyone control her. She's a literal Girlboss.
