After punching the Duke, Ilrick got his right hand cut off.

Though the duke did think to cut off his hand but decided against it because of how Ilrick look stricken when he saw the damage he caused to the duke's face.
And... The duke fell in lu** at first sight with Ilrick. He saw him and followed him. Then he witnessed the altercation between Ilrick and Miles and Ilrick killing Miles. The duke kept following Ilrick and saw him fuc**** Lyriel and thought that his a** looks good.
Everything that happened to Ilrick after was planned by the duke to trap him and make him depend on him.

I just saw the latest chapter 52. I don't know what the author is doing with the story. I was finding myself wishing MJW to just kill himself to end his suffering or to kill everyone to alleviate his pain. That's how bad the story became.
