No one's gonna die except kinda KDJ but not actually because of the agreement between him and Secretive Plotter like the previous comment said.

KDJ will get booted to another timeline instead.

Also the incoming battle against Surya is actually kinda fire in the novel so def looking forward to that

The important subplot is pieced together over several chapters and is all linked to MLs mother who tried to run away but got caught and locked up by MLs brother and starved to death. Ml thinks fl turned his mother over for money, resulting in the hatred.

Ml and fl knew each other from a distance, FL having secretly listened to ml playing the cello. It was actually ml who told his mother to hide with fl, that's why he thinks FL snitched on his mother (which she kinda did but also didn't since it was his mother will because she wanted to see her son one last time). His mother's death was what caused him to become a crazed killer.

Another major major spoiler: When ml leaves FL she finds out that she's pregnant. FL, needing work then accepts a proposal of MLs brother to work as gardener at their villa. And it takes a lot, and I mean like around 100 chaps till ml figures out he actually loves fl, though he has kinda a split personality struggle between the kind hubby and the ruthless killer (not severly, just internally if I remember correctly)

After he regains his memories he'll play along for a while longer,  starting to subtly demean and insult FL (she questions herself whether she's just being paranoid since he mixes is with being sweet) before finally abandoning her. Goes on a while longer with the emotional abuse in the second half of the story.

Basically there is a very important subplot with a cello and their past (without spoiling too much, he blames FL for a very significant incident in his past - yes they knew each other in the past and he came to the island to kill her in the first place). If I remember the finale of the first half correctly FL set up a cello and orchestra for him which he basically destroyed right in front of her eyes, poisoning the tree she loves so dearly, smiling while watching angry villagers attack her and then going to destroy her house, making her fall in depression all in all.
