@ahjussislittleslut Firstly, I wasn't trying to come at you. My previous comment was mainly centered on why the N-word is so sensitive, and you're absolutely entitled to feel the way you do especially in regards to this story. I'm a Black woman, and sometimes I see people call things racist when they really aren't. I believe a lot of the backlash against Jaxx came from the Wetsand fandom (TJ stans vs JO stans). Many people just followed the "narrative", and if you ask them why they're offended, they can only say, "It's racist" or "It's offensive," without giving any depth of why. A lot of them have never taken the time to learn about slavery or racism to be so judgemental they're simply following the crowd. That said, there are also people, myself included, who "genuinely" felt the story was too sensitive. I never wanted the author or story cancelled; I just decided it wasn't something I was going to read. Anyway, I respect your opinion. I had just say to be careful when discussing topics like racism or slavery because people can easily misunderstand your point. All love. ♥

@ahjussislittleslut Firstly, I don't agree with how harshly the author is being cancelled. I think the situation could have been handled better, but the criticism itself was justified. It doesn't matter how many years have passed since slavery ended. We remember it to honor the people who were enslaved—those who were brut@lized, r@ped, degr@ded, be@ten, mur-dered, and treated worse than animals. The freedom we have today exists because enslaved people and countless others fought for it. That's why, when a story is set during such a painful period, it should be handled with care. There was no white hero who single-handedly freed the slaves, and no enslaved person would proudly or confidently say, "I'm a slave." That's where the uproar comes from. That brings me to your statement: "when you are too offended to get called the "N" word if you were black." If you understand the history of that word, you'd know why many Black people, especially when it's said by a white person, find it deeply offensive. It was used to degrade, dehumanize, and humiliate us. We were the ones that reclaimed the word and somewhat glorified it, that doesn't erase its history or make it acceptable for everyone to use. Refusing to acknowledge or respect that comes across as either ignorance or racist. Just because slavery happened centuries ago doesn't erase what was done. We remember it not to stay stuck in the past, but to honor those who suffered and to ensure that history—even in fiction—is treated with the respect it deserves.

I do believe the author made the right decision in discontinuing this. Slavery is an incredibly sensitive topic, and no matter how carefully it was handled, I think the first chapter was always going to face heavy criticism over even the smallest mistake.

That said, I also feel that some of the negativity carried over from the *Wet Sand* fandom. Ever since TJ was confirmed as endgame, I saw people constantly comparing the two authors and saying Jaxx would never write an ending like that. From that moment, I had a feeling when this was released would spark a lot of conflict or controversy, regardless of the story itself.

So disappointed in people feeling the reason is so little, because they miss the point. Even before the accident, Mincheol felt he was unworthy of Hanuel from childhood, which is why he started playing baseball, right? He wanted to be his own person and become a better, more successful person for Hanuel. That didn’t work out, and the accident only solidified it because, to him, he is responsible. He could not protect her from harm twice: the car almost hitting her and her falling down the stairs.

Your whole paragraph contradicts itself. At first you said Jumin isn’t dumb enough to admit it and that it’s poor writing, yet you use that same scenario to explain why he admitted it and how it proves he’s a mastermind therefore "smart". At this point, it feels like you’ll say anything as long as it supports your point or what you call “logic and consistency.”

The MAIN reason Jumin did what he did was because he feels inferior to Jaekyung — jealousy, disdain, insecurity. His primary goal was never the championship; it was Jaekyung’s downfall, how can I define someone like that as smart? He’s cunning and manipulative but that’s not the same as being "smart".

And realistically based on your “logic and consistency”, if Jumin is actually as "smart" as you claim, he’d probably have the pervy mf k-illed or bribe the police before getting caught anyway, which makes the interrogation scenario even poorer writing.

Let's say a police investigation and interrogation happened, Jaekyung would never have found out it was Jumin before the fight because realistically they take time. In his mental state, he probably would’ve lost. Then what? How would the story move forward at the final major arc?

The only thing Jumin achieved with his “single sentence” was getting brutally punched by Jaekyung😂. He couldn’t even land a single punch. Quite Pathetic.

You can write your own story too — let’s see how “logical” and “consistent” it turns out.

@Nickname I disagree. FIRSTLY SO HAPPY JUMIN GOT HIS A-S-S BEATEN EMBARRASSING🤣🤣. I don't know which manhwa you're reading, but Jumin is exactly that kind of person. He's not that smart either, just a LOUDMOUTH. He also did it to put Jaekyung off his game; the only thing is, it backfired. His full-time job when he was younger was bullying and putting Jaekyung down out of disdain and jealousy.

Additionally, he did not tell him directly, “I hired a hitman.” He just said, “You sure you wanna leave your lover boy?” That’s not enough evidence to prove he is the one behind it. Innocent until proven guilty. It’s obvious he just wanted to aggravate Jaekyung even more. As much as anger can be a strength, it can also be blinding. Jaekyung only won for Kim Dan, which is why he didn’t give Jumin a single opening he went full-rage-mode attack. Regular angry Jaekyung without doing his Jinx, would have lost.

What you were expecting or wanted would have been even poorer writing, because the recent chapters focus on Kim Dan and Jaekyung’s relationship growth. Imagine adding a police investigation in the middle of an important arc that determines progression of a relationship. If anything, that can come later. Calling it unnecessary, pointless, and the worst type of writing is downright disrespectful. I’m happy the author decided not to drag the fight out, because Jumin ain’t worth the time, and we don’t want to see his ugly a-s-s either.

You don't know why the rush? Chapter 99? Some fans have been waiting since 2022 for Kim Dan and Jaekyung's relationship growth, so we do not exactly want to see a police investigation right now or Jumin being smart, even if he is clearly dumb af. That can come after I know my baby Kim Dan is alright.

Jinx - Ch. 97
This author keeps dragging this out, it's tiring. There seems to be a huge development from both parties. Why is the old man needed?? Where is all this going? Honestly if jaekyung loses his match to that mother****** jumin it will pi** me off we all know what this means to him. He can lose any other match not this

@Abyssal saint You can't compare Choi jeong hyuk to the red or black flags in most of these manhwa's lol. If all those manhwa's were omega x alpha verse and their omega ended up pregnant they would never think of killing their baby but would rather kill their own father to protect their omega. Night by the sea comparison is the most ridiculous considering how miserable and guilty Yeo Taejoo felt when he found out Kim Euihyun had a miscarriage. While the so called Choi jeong hyuk sat and watched Jae-in as he bled and even had the audacity to abandon him at his lowest and expected him to wait like a dog. It's okay for you to like Choi jeong hyuk but don't try to defend him using other manhwas' just because they're red or black flags doesn't put them in the same caliber as a piece of sh** like Choi jeong hyuk that killed his own child.

I feel like a lot of you are disappointed because you projected a certain "expectation" of what you wanted or thought will happen.

But from the beginning Doyak made it clear "This isn’t a story about one person saving another. Instead, it’s about each character endlessly circling in a tangled web of fate."

You can find her heartfelt letter here — give yourself some clarity and understanding: https://prhcomics.com/2025/05/01/message-to-readers-from-doyak-author-of-wet-sand-volume-1-on-sale-may-6th/

This was never meant to be a perfect healing story or miraculous character development — just losers in love🥰. Anyway what you darlings readinggg???

Yayyyy! Doyak said they would be back with an epilogue and afterword on the next serialization date

@12345 Took my time checking there is no such tweet from doyak as I said come with proof (existing ones) not you coming here with they said, he/she said and call me the willful illiterate😂 so gullible. Did Jo show obsessive trait yes that doesn't make him obsessive, if anything say he is possessive. There is something called AI people fake a lot of tweets. I don't care if 100's say it I only listen when there is proof.
