@Prinzinc Good to hear that in your case "your family method works", now that we are talking about ancestors, my grandpa dated a lot in his young days, grandma dated 3 guys (and I know this because grandma told me stories of her young days and how one of my uncles almost got a name of one of my grandma's ex hahahaha), one of my uncles ran away from home with his first love when they were 16 and 17 and to this day they are happily married with 5 kids, other of my uncles did what you said, they were having a good life and were such a good couple until my uncle started to make money and his wife cheated on him so they divorced with two kids, dad and mom dated around, and they are still together to this day, so your flawless method and  "success story" isn't the only way, I've seen the good thing you are talking about and it worked for one of my uncles and for the other it didn't I've also seen the evil you are preaching about and I see no evil in this, other than your prejudice.

You are defending your side because that's what worked for you and your family however the other side also works, so saying that people "won't listen to success stories" is just you inflating your own ego, cause there's no perfect method in this life and your success story is just of the thousand success stories with different methods, you can see happily married open marriages, happily married people who dated a lot when they were young, happily married people who are married to their first love, happily married people who broke things, dated around and then life brought them back together, and so on.
My feedback on stories are not hate.
You know I have to do this:

Yeah, I expected this type of response.  It's quite similar to, "I knew people who became rich with bitcoin so working hard and saving your money isn't the only way.".

You seem to think you've got a "gotcha" by asking lots of "what if" questions.  Those are all variable that need to be carefully considered in each situation so I don't have an absolute answer for you.  Mostly, you have to use good judgement and take the non-interesting paths of the highest success rates.

Sure, you are correct that there is more than one path to our shared goal, however there are paths that are far more successful on average than others and there are also paths that more often than not destroy people.  It seems that you are also one of those people who won't listen to success stories because you prefer your concept of chaotic non-parenting and my family's method requires lots of invested effort and proper planning.  You are also correct that there is nothing guranteed in life, only strategies that work more or less often.

Of course, you have earned the right to gamble with your family's future and your children's long-term happiness.  I wish you luck.
