As much as I hate ethan ...his twisted personality stems from the parents misbehaviour... That's why people say be kind to other if you don't pay for the bad behaviour your children will have to... And in so many cases I have seen this happening around me...

@Mangabliss of course it doesn't justify ethans action but I'm also telling that he became like this because hugo's parent's were awful to ethan when he didn't do anything wrong... Karma works on everyone

@Mangabliss karma did work on the parents too.. they were devastated when hugo disappeared... And they are also suffering when hugo is suffering due to karma sickness... No parents wants to see their child in so much agony...
And Ethan is so hostile towards hugo all because of the parents... The parents were so loving to hugo.. so ethan can clearly see that the parents can be kind, but they don't show this kindness to him... I can see how this might put ethan to put all his resentment towards hugo rather than the culprits (the parents).

@Mangabliss yeah ethan is obviously punishing the wrong person for all the suffering that he had to endure... But I think so he also wanted that love from the parents that hugo recieved and hence when he saw a opportunity to take away all that love from hugo and cause the parents to suffer too he acted on that...

What he did could've been justified if it didnt touch that limit....but he was far gone the moment he ignored the boundaries

Please know I am also not defending the parents....what I am saying is as much as the surroundings shapethe personality....its also the innate thoughts and a sort of primary nature of the person...it just got enhanced by the parents sure
