I was really hoping that princess would just leave those two alone.. but even in future coming chapters she would resolve some issues by separating these two. It wasn't out of any hatred or jealousy, instead princess considers maxi her friend. But her solutions always involve them separating.
Moreover I felt sad for our male lead because he had to live in worry and later away from maxi, just because of maxi's dumb decisions of always demanding something she wants purely for herself and not considering how he would feel. She followed him in a very dangerous expedition just because she wanted to, later she got into school just because she wanted to.. and it was a years long separation. In short I was pis*** at princess for her weird solutions and also maxi for always being ready to do whatever she wanted to do and testing our male lead's patience...

But maxi wanted to learn magic and wanted to be even a tiny bit useful and make herself feel more prouder and confident and secure as riftan wife, I think the princess helped her w self development, riftan just kept maxi back in the face of protecting her, but maxi needed to come out of her shell

I agree but disagree with some parts. It does suck that the princesses solution for the incident that happened to maxi was to separate them but honestly it was the only way, if not riftan would loose everything and maxi would live with guilt if he did give up everything for her. Also I think her choosing to go to school was a good thing as riftan always kinda tries to hold her back and at times treats her like a child (not with bad intentions of being controlling) because he can be overly protective (especially after what happened to her) But I agree that some of the decisions that maxi has made in the resent chapter's are annoying and tests riftans patience way to much sometimes tbh (the princess is als a tad annoying in the most recent chapters but still seems like she really cares for maxi for the time being:)

@Hebe 06 So she's never allowed to branch out? Never allowed to do what she wants after an entire lifetime of isolation ridicule and neglect for even *speaking*? She just has to stay a trembling flower forever??? I love Riftan and I dont doubt his love for Maxi at all, but he's still keeping her in a gilded cage. There's no way for her to learn and grow and be the person she was meant to be if he keeps treating her like a child who will shatter at the slightest breeze. Meeting Agnes, going to school, occasionallyactually trying his patience by living and making mistakes like a normal fuckijg human instead of a porcelain doll...all of it is objectively good for her.

@Hebe 06 Those were not dumb decisions. She came to the expedition because she wanted to be with Riftan and be a help to them. She went to school to learn because she knows she's still lacking.
Even when Maxi is already Riftan's wife, other people were still expecting Riftan to marry Princess Agnes. Maxi wanted to build her confidence and develop herself and her skills. She has been abused and sheltered since she was young. We can even see her worrying for every little thing. If she wants a few years to help herself, then she can have that. She owes herself that. Or else, she will deteriorate. This will help their relationship in the long run.
You're only thinking about Riftan, but you're not thinking about it in Maxi's perspective.
