Sooooo.... I'm guessing the egg needs to take someone's magic energy, in order to hatch. @ExplainingStuff maaayyyyybeeeee... the egg isn't the youngest prince?? No one knew of the eggs existence until this sketchy prince brought it to Kouichi as the bride test. So, perhaps it's a fake? Maybe this is all a set up to get Kouichi to fail. It's supposed to not hatch. But even of it does, they can say that the newly hatched "prince" doesn't have royal blood, so Kouichi must have switched out the eggs. Either way, Kouichi doesn't become the bride and his man can't ascend the throne..

@Milo it was his mother. It was a flashback to his childhood. His mom was telling him to be more like his father. But, I'm not sure if the translation is accurate and she's saying to LOOK more like his father or ACT more like him.
