@eivicidiiefyi To be frank, you ain't missing much. His only narrative role is to carry out the toxic obsessive romance the author had in mind and nothing else, so he is mostly shown to be motivated by nothing other than selfishness. From what I remember,
Spoiler!
after they get married he takes the opportunity to indulge in his lust whenever he wants, no matter how reluctantly she accedes to it (and, in multiple situations, even despite her saying she's not in the mood). The FL is stuck in this quagmire of a relationship where, haunted by a lifetime of the people who're supposed to care for her exploiting her, believes that she's "in love" with him for the second time. I can't blame her though. Once in a while, he throws her a crumb of what could be reasonably misconstrued as affection: taking her on a date or two, and also...and... oh, wait—yeah, that's about it. Lol

Notably, other than her maid, the only other person she meaningfully interacts with is the ML, and this is by his design. He controls and monitors where she goes and why, who she meets, and has the power to keep her under house arrest and deny her visitors (which he did do at one point). Even with all those oppressive measures, he misundertood that she's in love with someone else and thought she was planning to be with this illusive imaginary man after their contractual marriage period ended; his solution to that was to replace her contraceptives with dud pills and baby trap her. Now, unbeknowngst to him, she was planning to conceive that same coincidental day anyway to guarantee she'll get her son back, but the motive and act itself was so evil I genuinely never got over it.

@bibliophage could u give me some spoilers...

i know i don't have it in me to be a sub bc if a man told me to sit on his lap and get spanked i'd have to cut off his d*k and balls with my favourite victorinox chef's knife. soohyeon seems really into it though so all power to him 😭

I hate "interventions" like this. It comes off as so patronising and doesn't help anybody. The person with the trauma was the one shaped and changed by it, so don't you think he's already reminded himself a million times to be on guard? A simple, "hey i'm worried about you, please make sure to stay sharp even if he seems like a good guy, and I'll be here if you want to talk" would have sufficed.

is it just me or did the first scene between Prinz and the Third Prince give off weirdly homoerotic vibes? all I've been reading these past few days is BL and my wires must have crossed somewhere 😭😭😭

this is exactly how i want my toxic men, none of that Jinx garbage. objectively terrible people but doting to their partners is the way to go

I'm not sure why people have such trouble seeing why this hit Mincheol so hard. It was very clear the whole time leading up to his accident that he was already burning himself out, and as if that wasn't enough Haneul wasn't even at his school to cheer him up. Since he's not as sociable this left him completely alone, at a time where he was already self-deprecatingly ruminating. He clung to baseball hoping it would give him confidence to stand beside Haneul but in the end all his efforts and pain were for nothing. That's already devastating, let along the rehabilitation for the injury, and Haneul falling off the stairs and being hospitalised was just the cherry on a very stacked depression cake.
there's forbidden romance stories that immerse you so deeply that you understand why the characters are helplessly trapped in each other's toxic orbit but on G** i've never gotten that from these two together bc the ML makes me want to tear all my hair off.

even while they were kissing this was my face the entire time:
 trollface sticker
brutal truth #4: in real life, chatgpt will not be puppeteered by the author's narrative intentions, so there is high chance that it will not tell you what you actually need to hear. there's also the fact that, in the process, you'd be handing over highly sensitive information to a tech company with little to no incentive to protect it.
the way they have zero chemistry in real life kills me 😭 not even a single pleasant conversation or the occasional fun banter to bond over, just awkward dinners and chae yoojeong deceiving the MC (and for no discernible reason either)
honestly even with all the bs modern day life is so much better. as mere commoners we an have freshly ground peppercorns and enough salt and sugar to fill a barrel. we go to the grocery store and the whole world's spices are available at prices most people can buy. restaurants of different cuisines are aplenty. there's electricity, plumbing and air-conditioning, and an invisible connection built on multimillion dollar cable networks that connect us to people on the other side of the globe and help us master any skill and take inspiration from ideas humanity has developed for thousands of years.

unless you were stuck in a vicious poverty cycle, or you live haunted by the average Joe's structural insignificance, why would you give that up just to live a noble woman's confined life?

@Mira he does not even consider what he is doing or how he thinks to be "unkind" towards Gilmorans. it's kind of like how elitist scumbags might call the cops on "hobos" or "delinquent teens" for occupying public space in any manner other than completely unobtrusive. in their minds, their discomfort at having to coexist with them in the same place is enough reason to police their existence--bc they are being too "vulgar", and if they stopped, then so would their suffering. so then naturally it becomes easy to justify their civic "duty" to report them to the authorities for "antisocial" behaviour.

all this to say that it's just a bunch of codswallop and i think people like this should receive a public beating

Esdra is kind of a two faced. FL has said multiple times she is against the hate for Gimora people, ...
that belt he was wearing has been searing into my eyeballs from the moment he appeared 💀💀💀 i've got to double back because i don't remember a da** thing they said
Spoiler!
Thesilid wanted to go there to destroy it, because that's how the heroes managed to imprison him in the dark dungeon. To prevent him from regressing or using any of his transcedental powers to free himself, they forced him to drink the water from this well for hundreds of years, effectively torturing him in captivity rather than let him regress and risk him killing innocents again. He wants it gone to prevent that traumatic experience from ever happening this time. He doesn't have a death wish, it's the opposite — around Ailette, the world is different, and he is able to find hope to live on.

Thesilid realising that even Ailette's obvious love for treasure is nothing in the face of her affection for him has him so shocked lmfao I love them sm
