@Ducky The anime industry is often more focused on quantity than quality. Anime adaptations are primarily made to promote the manga and increase manga sales, which is why many series only receive one season. The ones that get multiple seasons are usually the most popular and profitable. In recent years, a lot of successful anime have leaned heavily into ecchi content, including themes involving shota or loli characters, because there is a significant audience for that type of content. So, in many cases, it's manga > anime. Once you start reading manga regularly, it can be difficult to go back to anime because adaptations often skip content, rush the story, or fail to capture all the details and pacing of the original work.

@Jyq I think the issue is that you're looking at the situation through a modern perspective, while the story is built around very different values. This is a knightly setting, where honor, pride, and keeping one's word are considered extremely important, sometimes even more important than life itself. Because of that, the apology isn't just a simple "sorry"—it's an acknowledgment of wrongdoing and a matter of honor. From that perspective, his reaction makes a lot more sense. In a modern setting or something like post-apo story, I would agree that the response seems unnecessary. But in a world built around chivalry and knightly ideals, refusing to apologize after causing such an offense can be seen as a very serious act. That's why I think the context of the story and the duel matters here. The characters aren't acting according to modern values; they're acting according to the values of their world.

@DarkShadow The moment you implied that I think Americans or the US are better simply because they are American, the argument and the debate were already over. I never said or implied anything like that—I was only talking about country size, probability, and management. Also, I don’t think the author implied that either. If you’re mixing attitude, status, and overall country ranking, that’s your interpretation, not mine. Have a nice day, sir.

@DarkShadow First, quantity does not mean quality. Having a larger population only means a higher chance of producing powerful Awakened, but probability is not something you can rely on. If you've ever played a game with RNG, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Second, a larger population does not necessarily mean more resources. Some countries may be small in size yet possess vast amounts of valuable natural resources. Lastly, and closely related to the previous point, knowing how to use and manage those resources is a decisive factor. A resource-rich nation that fails to develop or exploit its assets effectively can still fall behind a country with fewer resources but better management and strategy.

Ghost website made to get free views and probably money funded by ads. There’s no admin checking the quality of the “stolen” chapters uploaded by bots, or fixing the gateway issue that keeps getting worse over time. I’m copying my bookmarks elsewhere and moving on. Have fun.
Straightforward — at least she knows what she wants and doesn’t play hard to get or those stupid cat-and-mouse games. Nice one, she is a keeper.
So, let’s sum it up: he wants to kill the MC because the MC doesn’t follow the rules and refuses to play by the book. Okay… and at the same time, he’s threatening a little girl just to pressure the MC. Yeah, he definitely seems like someone who follows the law and plays by the book...

@Shayatsu Sorry, but when someone writes a review like “this is bad” (which is still the polite version of many comments), “I love it, more chapters,” or even just a few smileys, that is not a proper review. In fact, those comments are basically useless.

A review is supposed to try to give potential future readers an idea of what they are about to read without spoiling the story. Of course, many people — myself included — can get emotional and go too deeply into details, sometimes crossing the line into pure personal opinion. That’s normal; we’re human.

But again, when a review contains barely three words, or gives a 5-star rating while the review itself describes the story as average, it doesn’t help anyone at all.

@Aho no Matey That’s the classic political cliché plot. It’s easy to use because it feels realistic and helps keep an antagonist around for longer.

@Swirl  It’s hypocritical to act offended by a plot point while continuing to read the story. First, she isn't smiling because she's 'forced or happy', she's smiling because she knows she's gaining power that will help her later. Second, you're attacking a point I didn't even make. I never said she was happy; I said she was being pragmatic because she has no choice. There is a difference between 'liking' a situation and 'using' a situation to get stronger. If you have to resort to personal insults because you didn't understand the comment, it just shows you don't have a real argument.

@Nadrios Do you really believe privacy exists on the internet? Between those who voluntarily share their lives and those who get “accidentally” photographed—not even mentioning real-life friends who might gladly share your location for a bribe—the same applies to the staff of companies managing these platforms. It’s surprisingly easy to obtain people’s personal information.

I don’t know where you live, but here—and I believe in many other places as well—ISPs sell phone numbers and email addresses to anyone willing to pay, just to make more money. And that’s how you end up with a ton of ads from websites you don’t even know.

The protagonist lacks any real depth; he’s essentially a low-level psychopath driven by his worst instincts. He only survives because of pure luck and 'plot armor.' Without his OP powers, his arrogance and uselessness would have gotten him killed long ago.

@Yww I apologize for the misunderstanding; I shouldn’t have phrased it that way. The story is emotionally heavy because it involves betrayal, various threats (of many genre), and brainwashing.
Spoiler!
It also features complex factional schemes and the fact that the protagonist will be responsible—directly or indirectly—for many deaths, including those of friends

To answer your review and your comment on my review : I think you’re confusing flirting or romantic attraction with gratitude for the help he received in the past. I’ve read up to chapter 367, and his heart still clearly only belongs to the woman he was first with (by accident but still), Nangong Wan. He doesn’t even make a move toward Mu Peiling, who basically forced him into becoming his concubine. So I really don’t see where the idea comes from that “this changes later on and his heart goes ba-dump for every single woman he sees, turning it into just another generic shounen story”.
Wow, chapter 0 and there’s already a major issue. A “common objective is entertainment”? No, not really.

Let’s be honest—99% of games are designed to squeeze as much money as possible out of bored customers. People who’ve lost hope in the gaming industry, yet still keep searching for that one hidden gem.
