@Sweeth Tooth To answer your question: I don't know about the WN. However, I have read a comment claiming that, in the LN, MC is completely a girl. And since manga adaptations, as a general rule, tend to be based off the Light Novel instead of the Webnovel, I'm inclined to believe it.

It would not surprise me the least bit if the author decided to change MC from a shota to a girl when rewriting for the LN version. LN authors tend to make tweaks like that, especially after reading the feedback for the WN version.

Granted, the first panel of this story seems to be a retelling of a legend about an "evil witch" who demanded a sacrifice and promised a curse for not complying, with a king who responds by ordering his knights to kill the witch. However, again, this does not really explain much, assuming this legend is even accurate. Maybe it is accurate. But, for all we know, this legend was a fabrication. Or, perhaps the truth of this incident was twisted with the lies of a corrupt king.

Perhaps the royal family is the cause of this tragedy? Perhaps there was a royal decree to persecute witches? Or, perhaps the king did not heed the advice of a witch warning of a curse, resulting in tragedy, which the king later blamed on them? Heck, perhaps some royal magicians created this curse as a side effect of dangerous experiments - perhaps from an unwavering obsession to achieve immortality or something? I could imagine unscrupulous individuals doing magic experiments near a small village that pays very little in taxes and few would miss.

Or, are readers to believe that magic curses like this can occur naturally - as an act of g**, spontaneously and without a true reason?

Actually, the question "why the town was killed off" can be interpreted in more than one way. Sure, it was caused by a curse. However, this only answers part of that question. It does not answer *why* it was targeted by this curse, *who* killed off the town or even *who* even has the power to cast such a powerful, all-encompasing curse.

Sure, the obvious suspicion falls on the local witch of the woods as it is assumed that such curses can only come from a witch. However, by the end of this chapter, readers are lead to believe that this witch is unlikely to be the culprit. Even if she was guilty, it would not explain *why* she did it.

Personally, I'm as frustrated as Allen Osborn seems to be over not knowing who or why. It does not help that this story seems to have a somewhat poor translation, with more than a few speech bubbles filled with bad English. Nor does it help that this witch seems to have language or speech issues and the replies this witch gives to MC are broken and woefully incomplete.

@Destroyer2point_1 I'd agree with that MC is not intentionally playing with the feelings of others. But being an 'accidental jerk' is a thing that happens.

MC seems to lack awareness of the feelings of these girls and how his words and actions can (and does) hurt them. I think MC is so self-centered that he doesn't put himself in their shoes or think on how they'd react to what he says and does. (And, once again, I'll remind readers how it was only recently that MC made it clear how he's not the marrying type and has no plan to ever marry.)

MC should consider a hypothetical where he's just 1 of a dozen guys trapped on a island with 1 cute/gorgeous girl who signals interest in all of them... and she sleeps with most of them, stringing them along, taking advantage of their kindness, treating him and the other guys just like he's been treating the girls of this island.

Anyway, I'm finding it more and more difficult to find the humor in this story the more this goes on.

@My Own Worst NPC I really don't think it took until this chapter for Cecily to suddenly realize she had romantic feelings for MC. Nor do I believe that what Cecily and MC shared was purely physical and nothing more. At least, it seem clear to me that Cecily considers it more than that.

People seem to have forgotten how, just 4 chapters earlier, Cecily proposed marriage to MC as a way of taking responsibility and spending the rest of her life trying to make amends for the trouble she caused him... Yet MC responded by soundly and, without much tact, rejected her, mostly by explaining that he's not the marrying type. I haven't forgiven MC for not explaining that much earlier, stringing these girls along, and lacking sensitivity.

Out of all these girls, I feel the most sympathy towards Cecily, especially as she was one of MC's firsts and because I think she's developed as a character. Granted, she was too focused on revenge. That said, I can respect her determination to face her past and put it behind her before she could face her feelings for MC and consider a future together.

Again, that Stat window of Vector's is completely unfair! Several of his stats, like Str and Dex, have more that doubled. (Actually, his strength increased by more than eight times!) I don't care how powerful the Winter Lord was, that's insane! All that from just one fight? What was the author thinking?
anime sticker
Up until now, I don't recall MC's stats increasing by even 1 point from killing monsters, even though she's slain many winter wolves and, earlier, several giant ogres and numerous orcs. The only thing MC has attributed to stat gain was from her blacksmithing skill and that was Dex. Vector directly gets +133 points in strength from one fight, yet in all this time MC's strength only increased by 1 point?

Well, I suppose I should reserve judgement because it hasn't shown MC's Status window since she killed the Winter Giant, the Witefang leader, and (with Norn and Bell) took down a bunch of winter wolves. So it's possible MC's stats went up by a few points... but, considering the author's track record, I doubt it.
If you think about it, this chapter really does not make much sense.

Why is it that the town's defense does not have a single person manning the parapits to shoot down arrows or, at least, throw down stuff like rocks or boiling oil on the monsters? Were the huge, otherwise impressive stone walls surrounding the town only for show? Do they not have embrasures or arrow slits? Was it not built with murder holes above the city's main gates in order to protect the more vulnerable gates?

Also, if your side is heavily outnumbered - particularly by 4-legged monsters who did not even bring ladders to climb the town's wall or seem capable of climbing, and who did not bring siege engines, battering rams or siege towers - why would their commander order them to fight OUTSIDE the town's walls? Isn't that suicide? Again, are the town's walls just for show? (Perhaps the town's walls are paper mache and would blow over with the Big Bad Wolf breathing heavily?) Again, wouldn't it make more sense to shoot arrows from the wall or throw down rocks and stuff?

@Aiden Furry The golems MC made did not look like a masculine design to me. Rather, they looked almost exactly like "wooden mannequin" or what is otherwise called an "artist manikin". Try a Google image search for either. Compare that with how they look in Chapter 17, the chapter where MC first creates golems and then gets the idea to use them for her "daily routine".

Later, MC obtains the "Automa Creation" skill, which is an improved version of the "Golem Creation" skill it derived from, with automa being more akin to humanoid androids (versus blocky-looking robots). Look at the illustration on page 3 of Chapter 20. See how Automa look compared with Golems? That automa in Chapter 20 is clearly female, looking like a life-sized doll with long hair and wearing a dress.

Also, she did not attach a Di*** to them. Rather, what she held in her hand when she first got the idea was clearly a vibrator. It's just an adult toy. Many lesbian couples use them.

Vector's Status screen is so outrageous and absurd! It looks like the Status of a typical OP protagonist in a typical OP isekai.
Compare those stats with Ren the MC in chapter 1:
HP 50
MP 50
STR 3
VIT 3
DEX 5
AGI 3
INT 500
MGC 300
CHA 12
LUK 4

Now compare it with Ren's stats from just a few chapters earlier:
HP 60
MP 450
STR 3
VIT 4
DEX 15
AGI ?
INT ???
MGC 390
CHA 24
LUC 2

Ren's stats are not even in the same league as Vectors, even though she's the MC, despite all that she's done, despite all the monsters she's killed and despite how people keep commenting how MC is such a cheat.

I hope MC never gets with a male lead. For one thing, that would be inconsistent with the story.

The story only shows Ren having a strong interest in women or even certain girls. It even shows Ren having daydreams and fantasies about them. But, so far, Ren has not demonstrated even the slightest hint of interest towards guys. The closest to a hint at being attracted to a guy might be when Ren forced Ryu to crossdress and forced him to enter that beauty contest. Methinks she liked doing that and looking at the transformed Ryu a bit too much.

I have to wonder of MC having the memories of a previous life as a guy plus the trauma from the bullying by the idiot trio has completely turned her off of men. Well, her nature is such that all men tend to oggle her, etc. That Devilish skill just compounds the problem. So, of course she dislikes the dirty looks of men.

Why did MC's luck (LUK/LUC) stat decrease from 4 to 2? It makes no sense. Or is it normal for this stat to fluctuate randomly, perhaps even daily?

Actually, this story never did explain how and why certain stats increase. Though, at one point MC did attribute an increase in her Dexterity due to increasing her Blacksmithing skill. But that makes zero sense to me!

If any stat should increase due to blacksmithing, it should be Strength and/or Vitality (or perhaps Endurance or Stamina). Blacksmithing involves long hours of repeating pounding metal with a heavy hammer. This requires both strength and stamina, pushing both to their absolute limit. Skills that should push the limit of Dexterity would be something like juggling, sword dancing, dagger throwing, sports such as tennis, or fine detailed work, such as trying to repair a pocket watch or create something finely detailed.

MC's Hitpoints increased by 10, but we don't know why. Perhaps because she's a year older, or because she's fought in life-n-death conflicts and was healed after being injured? Her MP increased, likely from using so much magic all the time. Her Strength did not increase by even 1 point, while Vitality increased by just 1. MGC (Magic skill or Magic control?) increased by 90. And her base Charisma doubled to 24, possibly due to better nutrition and/or growing older by a year. But Luck going down by 2 feels insulting to readers.

MC's status window in this chapter is inconsistent from earlier chapters.
Rereading chapter 1, MC's Status window shows:
HP 50
MP 50
STR 3
VIT 3
DEX 5
AGI 3
INT 500
MGC 300
CHA 12
LUK 4

But in this chapter, MC's Status window shows:
HP 60
MP 450
STR 3
VIT 4
DEX 15
... ??
MGC 390
CHA 24
LUC 2

Harlock is just stating fact - making an observation while voicing displeasure.

Anyway, while MTL may be barely tolerable for reading translated Chinese novels, it should not be tolerated for trying to read and understand manga, especially since better translations are almost always available and because, compared to novels, manga does not have much text to translate.

I suggest we all report crappy machine translated chapters together. There's a button at the bottom of each chapter labeled "Report issue". If you click it, you'll get a menu of choices for the reason for reporting, with "Bad translation" being one choice.

Manga sites surely know that if they host scamlatation, then viewers will motivated to look for alternative sites with translations of acceptable quality.
I suppose you don't know: This Managabuddy already has a method to report scamlatations like this to get them to take it down.

At the bottom of each chapter page is a series of button. The first button, which looks like an explosive "i", is "Report issue". And one of the reasons for reporting you can choose from a menu is quote "Bad translation".

So... if we want to see better translations, why don't we get in a habit of reporting each chapter with a bad translation?
